Norwegian Chicken Pincushions

These Norwegian Chicken pincushions are made using quilting cottons, pieced using Linda Palaisy's scrap eater technique, and stitched onto foundation fabric. They are stuffed with grain (rice, lentils or sorghum depending on what I have most of at the time!), and given their weight, the don't budge when you stick pins or needles into it as you work. They will comfortably sit on the arm of your armchair. I have stuffed the heads so that they won't flop as the grains settle. Ideal little gift for the quilter, sewer or embroiderer. 

These pincushions also serve as a handy doorstop.

Available for free porch pickup from my home in central Stittsville or I can ship at additional cost. I have a few that aren't stuffed (contact me for details), which would be inexpensive to send by mail, and would include stuffing instructions.  Made in a smoke-free, pet-free, COVID-free home.
