Art to wear crocheted scarves, shawlettes & pelerines

I made these scarves using coordinating yarns on the theme of neutral colours in wool, mohair, acrylic and even some cotton. It can be worn multiple ways. I can make a hat to match if desired. I can also duplicate this scarf in different colours. 

I made the fringed version using a beautiful hand-dyed Noro yarn, then added the fun fringe. This unique, one of a kind scarflet can be worn in many different ways -- experiment. I added some ties to keep it in place. I've photographed this one shown worn over a sweater, but it could be worn over a little black dress (e.g., to the opera or theatre) or under the lapels of a business jacket or winter coat. It would be especially good to wear where there might be drafts around the shoulders.

The first free-form crochet shawlette can also be worn as a collar over a jacket or coat. Free-form crochet is an art medium where you simply make it up as you go along. I audition the individual motifs on my dress form, shaping the shoulders so it won't fall off (as a regular triangular shape would). I then hand sew all the motifs together and add the various embellishments - twirly bits, lengths of French knitting etc.  

The leaves and flowers hand-crocheted shawlette is made on a dress form so it is shaped over the shoulders. That means that it won't fall off the way a triangular shawl usually does.

The funky boa scarf is made using a variety of fibres -- it is unique and so warm and cosy. It can be wrapped around around the neck for a warm neck ruff or the ends can simply hang down. 

This beautiful pelerine is made using various yarns, mixed with a fine high quality yarn that contains mohair. I've also added a few rows of funky novelty yarns for interest and texture. Fits any size - cosy for reading a good book by the fire, or worn with a dress or fine sweater at the office. It could also be worn over a jacket or coat. Hand wash, lay flat to dry. 

I don't charge HST. Available for porch pickup from my home in central Stittsville, or can be shipped at additional cost. Made in a smoke-free, pet-free, COVID-free home.
