Bartender's Muddler

Essentially a bartender's tool for mixing drinks, this unique tool is ideal for a multitude of uses. Use it for crushing mint in your drinks or mashing herbs for cooking. You might even use it to powder medicines to hide in jelly to give to your kids or pets. 

Made from a variety of hardwoods such as cherry, oak, maple or ash, this tool will stand up to rigorous use. Finished with a food safe finish, it is easily cared for by simple washing in warm water with a mild detergent - not to be put in the dishwasher! It can be refinished periodically with a mineral oil or salad bowl oil but NEVER vegetable oil. Please indicate the type of wood preferred; most should be available at all times.

These items are turned with hand tools on a lathe one at a time. While a consistent general shape is desired, small differences occur. The objective is to get a pleasing shape that feels good in the hand. The photos above are examples; actual items may vary slightly but all are about  8 to 10 inches long and about 1.5 inches at the widest point. Makes a unique gift for home wannabe bartenders and hosts/hostesses - lasts long after the gift bottle of wine is gone.
