This piece began with an old family photo of three boys and their dog in rural New Brunswick. The photo was taken around 1940 at a time when play was probably a bit of a luxury and the goggles worn by one of the “junior birdmen” would have been quite a find. This truly unique piece also captures time and place with vintage sheet music “nothing else to do” and ads for bicycles and butterscotch.
Materials: Layers of mixed media and encaustic (wax) on 12X12" wood panel with vintage papers. Sides of panel are painted a cream colour. The panel is ready to hang as is (no framing required) or it could be displayed on a shelf, in a bookcase, on a piano, etc.
