This Norwegian Chicken pincushion is made using quilting cottons, pieced using Linda Palaisy's scrap eater technique, and stitched onto foundation fabric. It is stuffed with grain (rice, lentils or sorghum depending on what I have most of at the time!), and given its weight, doesn't budge when you stick pins or needles into it as you work. It will comfortably sit on the arm of your armchair. I have stuffed the head so that it won't flop as the grains settle. Ideal little gift for the quilter, sewer or embroiderer.
I have made lots of these things -- they're addictive! Let me know if you would like to see any in another colour. I have them on this site, but have disabled them to prevent cluttering up my page!
These pincushions also serve as a handy doorstop.
I can custom make this item in any colour.
