"Casting Light Shadows on the Water"

Acrylic paints on canvas, 24" wide X 30" long, two coats of polymer gel over the paints for isolation, and two coats of varnish (with UVLS: Ultra Violet Light Stabilizers) as a final finish for long range preservation (considered museum quality conservation).

On Thanksgiving Day, in October of 2014, I jumped on board of the Algoma Central Railway Line, for a three hour ride to Agawa Canyon to take photographs of all the magnificent scenic vistas and waterfalls of this immaculate canyon in the backwoods of Sault-Sainte-Marie, Northern Ontario, on the edge of Lake Superior.

          I managed to take two dozen photographs while in the canyon and on the way there; it was a wonderful sunny T-shirt day and so far, I've managed to turn a half-dozen of those photos into paintings; my only regret is that so few Canadians know about this Agawa Canyon: the train was almost exclusively filled with foreigners...
