"Flor Del Spiritu Santo"
Acrylic paints on canvas, 24" wide X 30" long, two coats of polymer gel over the paints for isolation, and two coats of varnish (with UVLS: Ultra Violet Light Stabilizers) as a final finish for long range preservation (considered museum quality conservation).
The title "Flor Del Spiritu Santo" is Spanish because this rare and endangered species of Orchid is only found in the jungles of Central America (mainly Costa Rica) and Venezuela. An adequate translation would be: "Flower of the Holy Ghost". Orchids are some of the most exotic and visually stunning flowers in all of creation, and it is a shame that scavenging and trying to transplant them out of their natural environment has without a doubt considerably reduced their numbers. Man keeps repeating the same mistakes over and over, without learning; hopefully, this painting might change someone's mind about conservation.
