Souvenirs of China: a black and white designer statement necklace

This black and white necklace asymmetric necklace is based around two oblong white beads with oriental symbols, supported by two round black and white beads.

They comprise the “statement” part of the necklace.  They are separated by shiny black glass beads and coconut shell rondelles.

The counterbalancing part of the necklace consists of 6 strands of black coconut shell and seeds, strung to resemble Chinese beaded curtains.

A  series of black beads and a discreet black nickel  clasp bring the two completely opposing ends together.

Together they make up a light, and light-hearted homage to the oriental, and a statement that the wearer is not constrained by the symmetry of most traditional necklaces.

Note:  This necklace is part of my series of lighter necklaces for those who want to make a statement but cannot tolerate anything heavy around their necks.
